Honoring the Legacy of Yaacov Agam

On view through August 31, 2026

Following the passing of renowned Israeli artist Yaacov Agam (1928–2026) in June, The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art has reinstalled a selection of works from our permanent collection in tribute to his extraordinary artistic legacy. This special installation will be on view through August 31, 2026, in the Mildred and Julius Sanditen Gallery.

The exhibition features several of Agam's celebrated Agamographs, including signed prints, alongside one of the Museum's most significant works, Rainbow Rhythm (1980), a monumental serigraph polymorph printed with 60 different colors in a limited edition of just 99 impressions.

Widely recognized as a pioneer of kinetic and optical art, Agam transformed the relationship between artwork and viewer. His vibrant compositions shift with movement, revealing changing colors, forms, and perspectives so that no two viewing experiences are ever the same. Through this innovative approach, Agam invited audiences to become active participants in the artistic experience.

We invite you to experience this special tribute and celebrate the enduring legacy of one of Israel's most influential modern artists.
